On 15 June, I took part in the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year event at Richmond Riverside as a Wildcard Artist. It was an incredibly exciting experience, with every artist bringing their own unique interpretation of the same scene. I learned so much from observing the different approaches and creative decisions made throughout the day.
I chose to paint this view because I was fascinated by the contrast between the warm red tones of the brick architecture and the rich greens of the surrounding landscape. I felt this interplay of colours would create a dynamic and engaging composition.
